On the day of your appointment, Dr. Marla will provide you some brief paperwork for you to fill out. This will provide her with general information about yourself and your condition. She will also request a copy of your driver's license and insurance card (if applicable). Once you have completed your paperwork, you will have a consultation/exam with Dr. Marla to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options.
In order to determine what your actual problem is for the visit, Dr. Marla will ask you various questions related to your condition. Then, a number of specialized tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and their severity.
At this time, Dr. Marla does not provide x-rays at her office. If she feels x-rays are necessary for your condition, she will refer you out to a near by imaging facility or request them by your primary care physician. She will then go over the findings in the radiology report as they pertain to your current condition.
Once the examination and all appropriate studies are completed, patients will usually be provided with their first treatment with Dr. Marla on the same visit. This may include spinal adjustments, hot packs, electrical stimulation, massage/table therapy, exercises and any other manual therapies that she may deemed necessary.
Prior to leaving, Dr. Marla will give you instructions on certain activities or procedures to be done at home. This could include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance or certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches.
After your initial visit is complete, Dr. Marla will give you a convenient appointment time for your follow-up visit. Patients are usually seen within 1-2 days and are provided with treatment options for your condition that will be discussed during this time. Make sure you follow up with your appointments so that Dr. Marla can get you back to pain free living again.
